IRON BENDER (the man that bends the iron) hails from DAKA-TOUGAN (Burkina Faso )
Born in the family of warriors, he is a real man of the Ghetto who only learned to count on himself, IRON the Rasta commando masters the language of Shakespeare fluently and it all started at the age of sixteen (16 ) when he was yet a student in Nigeria. He forced very early his intentions in poetry and he became the admiration of his teachers and classmates.
The first DEMO of IRON was recorded in Textiles Mill Road Benin-City Nigeria in 1982. The Rasta commando set foot in the Ivorian Land in 1984 and in 1986 became the leading vocalist of the group WILLY WISE then latter JAH APOTHY with this band he won the musical competition PODIUM held in Williamsville in 1988. IRON learned to play bass and rhythmic guitar that permitted him to take part in all sorts of musical recordings with other on-coming artist that nicknamed him (THE OLDIE) In 1990 he participated in English programs with the broadcaster Jeremie Ahoue on the Ivorian National Radio (reciting his poems and playing his demo cassette recorded LIVE on a 4 channels studio belonging to the old Mamadou Doumbia.) A lot of musical performances throughout Abidjan with his bandsmen and other artist like Solo Jah Gunt, Ice T cool,Tangara speed Goda etc.
In 1991, IRON came to Burkina Faso and broadcast his songs on the radio stations and registered in the copyright office (BBDA) as author-composer-arranger. With his poem THE DISCIPLINE DISCIPLE he participated in a poetry contest through the American Cultural Center organised by THE NATIONAL LIBRARY OF POETRY and was a finalist. In
I996 the Rasta commando returned to Burkina Faso and broadcast his new songs on the radios, he then met Nick DOMBY, just a simple test in his studio MIDDI, then serious things started when he toasted on three songs including the greatest hit DANS LA ZUP. Footballer, singer and man of the Ghetto, IRON is a great show man on stage. He is also a studio technician and started his practice with Prince Edouard, Tanly, MOSES from 1997 to 1999 in Abidjan. This very year he proposed his demo to T.A.S. PRODUCTION, a months work supervised and arranged by the commando himself in the STUDIO GRENIER permitted him to conclude his first album mastered in France and entitled CRIME. This album of ten (10) songs with one remix was distributed by SHOW BIZ in Abidjan.
He took part in television programs like TEMPO-MIDDI PREMIERE-YEKANGOHA-VIBRATION, the album was selling well when the Military Uprising of the 24th December 1999 blocked all activities for songs like VOLETICIENS- ZALANGAGAUCHIE LOI- LES ACTES ABOMINABLE- VOTER are all judged and considered very critic and therefore against the Military regime. But very talented, festivals like FESTA- MASSA OFF seeked for his participation.
We are in 2002, after two (2) years of sufferings, misery, troubles and the death of his producer Traore Amadou SEKOU, IRON decided and started to record his second album NON-VIOLENCE financed by himself when the civil war started in 19th September 2002 to disturb and slower his project. In January 2004 he concluded everything with the mixing.
KOUSSE MAMADOU, alias IRON BENDER the Rasta commando returned to his homeland (Burkina Faso) again in July 2004 with his second Album of eight (8) songs recorded in Prince Edouard’s studio in Abidjan. NON-VIOLENCE, this album dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi is distributed by SEYDONI PRODUCTION.
Before and after the release of this album on the 23rd November 2004, IRON was selected to participate in FRANCOPHONIE 2004 and FESPACO 2005. OPERATION KONGO KATAA and FREDO reggae festival of Ouagadougou were also participated by Iron Bender. The video clips of the songs FASO UNITE and DIVISION are now popular on the National and other privates Televisions. The end of year t.v show was held on the 31st dec 2005 with the rasta commando on the first list. FREDO reggae festivals was also a boiling passage for Iron not forgetting the S.N.C festival of Bobo Dioulasso of the 25th march to the 1st april 2006.

IRON BENDER (l’homme qui tord le fer) est originaire de DAKA-TOUGAN (Burkina Faso) Né d’une famille de guerriers et véritable homme de ghetto, Il n’a appris qu’a compter sur lui-même .IRON le rasta commando maîtrise la langue de Shakespeare et tout a commencé pour lui a l’age de quatorze (14) ans lorsqu’il était encore collégien au Nigeria. Il se forge très tôt des aptitudes pour la poésie, et en la matière Il forçait déjà l’admiration de ses professeurs et condisciples.
La première maquette d’IRON fut enregistrée à Textile Mill Road au Bénin City (Nigeria) en 1983. Le rasta commando mettra pieds sur le sol Ivoirien en 1984 et en 1986 il s’imposa comme chanteur principal dans le groupe WILLY WISE puis JAH APOTHY, avec ce reggae groupe il remporta le concours PODIUM organisé a Williams ville en 1988. IRON a appris a jouer a la guitare BASSE et accompagnement, ce qui lui permit de participer à différent enregistrements avec d’autres artistes musicien en herbe qui le surnomme (THE LION) En 1990 il participe à des émissions radiophoniques sur la radio nationale avec l’animateur Jérémie Ahoué (en déclamant les poèmes et en jouant également sa maquette enregistré en LIVE chez le vieux Mamadou Doumbia sur 4 pistes EN 1987). Plusieurs concerts à travers toute la ville d’Abidjan avec son groupe avec la participation de Solo Jah Gunt, Ice T cool, Tangara Speed Goda et bien d’autres. En 1991 IRON s’est rendu à Ouagadougou et diffusa ses chansons dans les différentes radios et s'inscrit au (BBDA) en qualité d’auteur- compositeur- arrangeur.
Avec son poème ‘THE DISCIPLINE DISCIPLE’, il participe via le Centre Culturel Américain d’Abidjan a un concours de poésie aux Etats Unis organisé par THE NATIONAL LIBRARY OF POETRY et en sortir Finaliste. En 1996 le rasta commando retourne au Faso et diffusa ses nouvelles chansons sur les radios. Il rencontre Nick DOMBY et les choses sérieuses commence pur lui, un petit essai lui permet d’imposa sa voir style TOAST sur trois titres dans sons studio MIDDI, donc le morceaux phare DAN LA ZUP.
Footballeur, chanteur et homme de Ghetto, Iron est une véritable bête de scène. Il est également technicien du studio, il commence son stage du studio avec Prince Edouard, Tanly, Moses, de 1997 a 1999 à Abidjan. La même année il proposa sa maquette a T.A.S. PRODUCTION, un mois de travail, supervise et arrangé par le commando lui même au STUDIO GRENIER lui permirent de finaliser son premier Album qui est masterisée en France, intitulé CRIME ce album de dix (10) titre dont un remix sort chez SHOW BIZ à Abidjan.
Il participe alors des émissions Télévisé, TEMPO-MIDDI PREMIRE-YEKANGOHA et VIBRATION. L’album se comporta bien sur le marché discographiques, mais le coup d’état de 24 décembre 1999 frein tout ces activités car les chansons comme LES VOLETICIENS-ZALANGANGAUCHIE LOI- LES ACTES ABOMINABLES et VOTER son jugée et considère trop engagé et donc contre le pouvoir militaire. Mais très talentueux, des festivals comme FESTA- MASSA OFF et biens d’autres le sollicite pour les spectacles.
Nous sommes en 2002, après deux (2) ans de souffrance, misère, trouble et la mort de Traoré Amadou Sékou son producteur IRON décide et commence l’enregistrement de son second Album NON-VIOLENCE financé par lui-même quand brusquement la guerre civile est intervenir le 19 septembre 2002 pour perturber et retardé son projet. En Janvier 2004 il boucle les dernière touche et mixage.
KOUSSE MAMADOU dit Iron Bender Le RASTA COMMANDO revient au pays des hommes intègres en Juillet 2004 avec son second opus de huit (8) titres enregistré à Abidjan chez Prince Edouard intitulé NON-VIOLENCE, L’album dédié à Mahatma Gandhi est distribué par SEYDONI PRODUCTION.
Avant et après la sortie de l’album, Iron est sélectionné pour participé à la FRANCOPHONIE 2004 et FESPACO 2005, sans oubliés le show de fin d’année 31 décembre 2005. l’OPERATION KONGO KATAA et FREDO ‘festival du reggae de Ouagadougou’ a aussi vu la participation d’IRON en live.
A Bobo Dioulasso le 25 mai au 1 avril Iron Bender le rasta Commando a démontre sa force, technique et expérience pour la réussite de la S.N.C ‘ Semaine National de la Culture.
Les deux (2) morceaux Clippée FASO UNITE et DIVISION ne passe pas inaperçu sur la télévision nationale et les autres chaînes privées ou ils sont classés plusieurs fois LES CLIP DE LA SEMAINE.
En février 2006 le Rasta Commando est sélectionné pour jouer le rôle de garde de corps de PACO dans le film cow-boy L’ OR DE YOUNGA réalisée par Boubakar Diallo.
En 2008 le rasta commando sort son dernière opus intitulé MANTCHI (l’homme Noir) distribuer par SEYDONI appuyé par un clip MANTCHI.
